This video is the official tourism advertisement of the Philippines, which won a competition abroad when Richard Gordon was still the Secretary of Tourism. After watching it, I was surprised on the great craftsmanship shown in the ad, not only by the concept builders of the ad, but as well as the actual participants of the ad. Truly Filipino.
The Philippines in the said ad had the tagline “More than the Usual”. The advertisment shows the regular things brought further. It shows the two faces of the Philippines, and how it would make every tired traveller feel at home with its hospitality. Pinoy na Pinoy!
I think that Senator Gordon must be given credit for making tourism one of the staple sources of our income. Before his stint in DOT, the tourism industry was at an all-time low, and Gordon did a great job putting it up.
And now that we are in the process of losing all our national pride, I suggest that you look at videos like this to remind you that the Philippines is still the best place on earth.
